The Battlefield 2042 open beta went live yesterday (or earlier for some lucky devils), but the reception has been - perhaps predictably - a bit of a mixed bag.
Alongside the usual issues around installation and matchmaking, a lot of people on Twitter are reporting visual issues; flashing, tearing and general disruption that all make life difficult in what is already a pretty hectic environment.
The game is still a good month away from its November 19th release date, and word from EA is that the build is a few months out of date. Given the widespread acceptance that a positively ridiculous amount of polishing happens in the final few weeks of AAA-game development, I think we can remain optimistic about this one.
